ABOUT JAY LAPEYRE:

James M. Lapeyre, Jr., (Jay) is President of Laitram, LLC, a diversified

global manufacturer of plastic conveyor belting, shrimp processing equipment, and space-saving stairs. He is also Board Chair of ION Geophysical, a NYSE company that provides seismic technology services and solutions to the global energy industry

Mr. Lapeyre is Chair of the Tulane Board of Administrators and Board Chair of The Atlas Society in Washington, D.C. He is a past Chair of The Business Council of New Orleans, and of the Isidore Newman Board of Governors, and he serves on a number of civic boards.

Post-Katrina, Mr. Lapeyre has been actively engaged in efforts to reform and improve local and state government in areas such as flood safety, uniform property assessments, charter schools, criminal justice, and the office of the Orleans Inspector General and Independent Police Monitor.

Mr. Lapeyre earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas and his Master of Business Administration and Doctor of Jurisprudence from Tulane University in 1978
